School of Discipleship
Are you ready to deepen your faith and grow in your relationship with Jesus? Family Worship Center’s School of Discipleship (SOD) offers comprehensive classes designed to meet you wherever you are in your spiritual journey.
We are passionate about growing believers and making disciples of Jesus.
Through SOD, we provide a wide array of classes and electives that will develop your faith no matter where you are in your walk with Jesus.
When & Where
From February through October, we offer three semesters of on-campus classes designed to meet the needs of our congregation.

Classes Offered

(Spring I) This class will explore how followers of Jesus, or disciples, grow in reflecting the character of God. God’s will for His people is not just that they would believe He is real, but that they would become like Him (Matt. 5:48). We will cover intentional practices (spiritual disciplines) that equip us to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30).

(Spring I & II) This course will focus on the person and work of the Holy Spirit and the intricate role He plays in our lives, the Church, and the world. We will look at the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, His Gifts and empowerment and what it means to be led by the Spirit. We will address excess and dangers and understand the difference between the Spirit and the flesh. We will emphasize our relationship with the Holy Spirit and how to receive all that He reveals.

(Spring I) This course highlights biblical principles and practical applications on marriage, family, and parenting. Topics include but are not limited to: the role of the husband and wife, improving and maintaining good communication, effective expression of love and respect, resolving conflicts, controlling one’s anger, and raising healthy and godly children.

(Spring I & II) Are you living in the freedom Jesus came to give you? There are so many things that try to hold us back from the abundant life. Anxiety, unforgiveness, spiritual strongholds, or bad habits. Find the tools you need in the Word of God to renew your mind and enjoy a life of freedom.

(Spring I) A safe place where caring people come alongside you as you find healing from the pain of separation or divorce. At this video-based support group program, you’ll find helpful counsel to manage the emotional turmoil and practical tools for decision-making.

(Spring I & II) A 6-week class covering foundational subjects that every Christian must understand to live a successful and fulfilled life in their daily walk with the Lord as they “grow up” in Christ. Whether you are new to Jesus, new to Family Worship Center or you're just looking to make sure you've got the essentials of the faith down, this class is for you.

(Spring II) This class will help you discover your unique giftings and abilities and how you can use them to serve in the local church. God has set every member in the body as it has pleased Him (1 Cor. 12:18), which means God has a place with your name on it! You'll hear from every department in our church to discover where you might fit best at Family Worship Center.

Knowing What We Believe
(Spring II) What you believe actually matters. Dive deep into the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God to get a firm grasp of the doctrine that motivates everything that we do as a church within the Pentecostal charismatic tradition.
